Las Vegas gave us a show last weekend with Josh Berry pulling off the upset and snapping Christopher Bell’s insane win streak to start the season. Now, the Cup Series heads back east for one of the best races on the schedule at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

What to Expect This Weekend

Homestead is another 1.5-mile track, but it races totally different from Vegas. Instead of hugging the bottom, drivers will be ripping the fence, trying to find every bit of speed right up against the wall. It’s risky, it’s fast, and honestly one of the best visuals in NASCAR.

We’ve got one open entry this week with JJ Yeley in the No. 44, but otherwise, it’s the usual suspects.

Key Drivers to Watch

Homestead races a lot like a high-speed dirt track. Running just inches from disaster, it’s easy to bank on the guys who know how to run the wall best.

Tyler Reddick: The defending fall race winner here. He knows how to live on the edge running the wall and will be dangerous late in the race. He’s my favorite to win.

Kyle Larson: He’s been fast all year and just dominated Friday night’s Truck race. Homestead suits him perfectly.

Christopher Bell: The win streak might be over, but the speed isn’t. A former Homestead winner who’ll be in the mix.

Where to Watch

The Straight Talk Wireless 400 is set for Sunday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m. CT on FS1 and Max.

What We’ve Learned So Far

The nerves of the new year are finally wearing off, and on-track things are starting to settle down for the most part. Off the track? That’s another story. RISE is out here handing out ARCA tests in super questionable conditions. Ty Gibbs went all out flipping his sprint car multiple times last weekend in the dirt track race that neighbors the Vegas racetrack. And oh yeah, the lawsuit against NASCAR is still very much active.

Let’s see what kind of tea we can stir up in South Florida this weekend.
