Charlotte FC earned a solid 4-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes at Bank of America Stadium. The home team played well from the start and gave fans a lot to cheer about.

Charlotte got on the scoreboard early in the 11th minute when Pep Biel scored with help from a cross by Wilfried Zaha. In the 36th minute, Ashley Westwood made it 2-0 after a calculated pass from Idan Toklomati. Just a few minutes later, Brandt Bronico scored a third goal from a Pep Biel assist, giving Charlotte a 3-0 lead before halftime. Brandt Bronico’s baby rocking celebration added a special touch as he is soon to be a dad.
In the second half, Charlotte kept up the pressure. Kerwin Vargas scored the fourth goal in the 52nd minute after a quick counter-attack. With Patrick Agyemang being away with the USMNT, opportunity for minutes came around which he was able to capitalize on and celebrate with his signature back flip.
Charlotte’s defense held strong for most of the game, and goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina made key saves that kept the game in Charlotts favor. But in the 74th minute, Andrew Privett was sent off with a red card for a foul in the penalty box. San Jose scored from the penalty kick, their only goal of the game.

Even with one less player, Charlotte finished the match without more problems and held on to the win. The result moves them to second place in the Eastern Conference, with ten points from five games.
Charlotte will travel to face Colorado Rapids on March 29.
