César ‘Chino’ Huerta, a standout forward for Pumas UNAM, is on the verge of transferring to Belgium’s RSC Anderlecht. The two clubs have reached a definitive agreement, with Huerta scheduled to travel to Belgium for medical examinations to finalize the move.
The transfer fee is reported to be around $2.5 million, with Pumas retaining a percentage of Huerta’s rights, potentially benefiting from any future transfers.

Huerta, 24, joined Pumas in the Apertura 2022 season and has since become a key player, particularly under coach Antonio Mohamed. In the recent season, he recorded eight goals and seven assists, showcasing his offensive versatility.
The decision to join Anderlecht was influenced by the club’s consistent participation in European competitions, offering Huerta a platform to showcase his talent on a larger stage.
Upon successful completion of medical tests, Huerta will become the fifth Mexican to play in Belgium’s Pro League, following Guillermo Ochoa, Omar Govea, Gerardo Arteaga, and Carlos Hermosillo.
This move signifies a significant step in Huerta’s career, providing him with the opportunity to compete at a higher level and gain international exposure. For Pumas, the transfer underscores the club’s commitment to developing talent capable of attracting interest from European teams.
As Huerta prepares for this new chapter, fans and analysts alike will be watching to see how he adapts to the challenges of European football and contributes to Anderlecht’s ambitions in both domestic and continental competitions.
