Italy and AC Milan legend Gennaro Gattuso got into a heated exchange with a pundit on live TV over the weekend after his Hajduk Split side suffered a tough 3-0 loss to Croatian title rivals Rijeka. Clearly frustrated after the defeat, Gattuso wasn’t in the mood to chat with Josko Jelicic, who he felt had been overly critical of him and the team.

Gattuso, known for his fiery personality during his playing days, stormed into the post-match interview on MAXSport 1 and immediately confronted Jelicic. After greeting host Valentina Miletic, he completely ignored Jelicic and made his feelings clear, saying, “I don’t shake hands with you because you speak too much.”

After a tense pause, Gattuso doubled down. “You speak too much and you don’t have respect for the people. You played football, so you know very well the situation. You always speak very bad. I don’t have respect for you.”

Jelicic, who once played for Sevilla, wasn’t about to back down and switched to Spanish in an attempt to defend himself against the former Valencia boss. “You played very badly,” he fired back. Gattuso, visibly irritated, started pointing his finger at Jelicic, getting right in his face and snapping, “You have to have respect for people. I am speaking.”

Jelicic wasn’t having any of it and shot back, “Put your hand down. You have to respect me.” At this point, the interview had completely unraveled, with both men shouting over each other in a chaotic, live TV moment.

“Speak here,” Gattuso demanded. “Speak of football here.” Jelicic held his ground: “We are going to speak. I am here.” The argument only got louder as Gattuso fired back, “Speak! Speak face to face.”

Miletic, trying to regain control, attempted to start the interview, but Gattuso and Jelicic weren’t done. The back-and-forth continued, turning what was supposed to be a post-match discussion into a full-blown TV showdown.
