Renowned former U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) goalkeeper Hope Solo is set to make a significant return to competitive soccer by participating in The Soccer Tournament (TST) 2025. This event, scheduled from June 4-9 in Cary, North Carolina, is a high-stakes 7v7 competition featuring a $1 million winner-takes-all prize.

Solo will lead her own team, aptly named “Solo FC,” marking her first competitive appearance since 2016. Expressing her enthusiasm, Solo stated, “I am incredibly excited not only to enter Solo FC in The Soccer Tournament but also make my comeback to the field at one of the most exciting events in soccer right now.”
A highlight of the tournament will be Solo FC’s matchup against the US Women’s team, which includes Solo’s former teammates Carli Lloyd, Ali Krieger, and Heather O’Reilly. This reunion adds a compelling narrative to the event, as these players previously achieved significant milestones together on the international stage.
TST 2025 has expanded its women’s tournament to 16 teams, with notable participants such as the North Carolina Courage, Angel City FC, and Wrexham returning from the inaugural event. The tournament aims to elevate women’s soccer by providing a platform for both legends and emerging talents to showcase their skills.
Hope Solo’s illustrious career includes over 200 appearances for the USWNT, earning the Golden Glove at the 2011 World Cup and contributing to the team’s 2015 World Cup victory. She also secured two Olympic gold medals, solidifying her legacy as one of the greatest goalkeepers in soccer history.

Her return to the field not only signifies a personal comeback but also underscores the growing opportunities in women’s soccer. As Solo prepares to lead Solo FC, fans and participants alike anticipate a thrilling competition at TST 2025.
